Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known role is her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The show ended on the 13, 2012, after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are also among her many. Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, Speech and Family Therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian. She was also of English descent. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and has said she takes part in Passover seders.
