Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant, syndicated columnist, television host, and author. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020, she has made 53 deals with the show, the largest being a $350,000 investment to purchase 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father as one who often was a drinker and treated her mother with disrespect and contempt, particularly after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled at school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to a Catholic elementary school in her community and began high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was fluent in several courses during her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
